Nicholas Kirkwood debuted his Spring/Summer 2010 shoe collection at the Roksanda Ilinicic runway show in London this week. As always, I love his shoes. He stays true to his signature style with the instantly recognizable platform and heel seen on most of his shoes. This collection features alot of iridescent colors that have an almost underwater shimmery look. While I like the look, it leads me to question if he used "the new leather", fish skin, in this collection (the last shoe pictured looks awfully suspicious). I hope to he*l not, because that's just a deal breaker for me. Can you imagine a cheaper, stinkier material to work with...yuck! Anyway, I will give Nicholas the benefit of the doubt, and assume it's snakeskin or embossed leather.
The feathers on the shoes are just props for the Roksanda Ilinicic clothing collection and will not be on the shoes when they are sold. Overall, the shoes are beautiful and terribly chic, as long as there is no fish.
