For Fall/Winter 2009, Marc Jacobs was inspired by all those great French muses of the late '80s specifically Marie Seznec, Victoire de Castellane, and Inès de la Fressange. The collection sure was a celebration of that decade with all of the glitzy excess, poufs, and ruffles. - ilvoelv.com
This season the platform pumps and boots sport an unusual hour glass heel with pearl pin detail, and I'm not a fan. The heel is OK, not great, but I'm not into the thick ankle ties. Marc Jacobs is a genius designer, but this collection missed the style mark.
These shoes are called Cancan, named after a lively, high-kicking stage dance originating in 19th-century Parisian music halls and performed by women in long skirts and petticoats. These shoes have an estimated 5 inch heel, including the 1 inch platform.
Louis Vuitton Lace and Satin Pump - $1,500. I don't like these at all. They look cheap.
Louis Vuitton Cancan Brocade Pump - $1,750. Louis Vuitton Cancan Goat Leather Pump - $1,350.
Louis Vuitton Cancan Knee High Suede Boot - $2,750. Louis Vuitton Cancan Thigh High Patent Leather Boot - $4,000. Louis Vuitton Cancan Thigh High Brocade Boot - $4,750.
The knee high boot is OK, but I wouldn't wear them. The other two boots like like stripper shoes - hideous.
