These Alejandro Ingelmo shoes are from his summer 2009 collection and feature woven metal, in bronze, gold and silver. Alejandro said the idea behind this spring collection was to 'create purely feminine silhouettes with a contrasting edge.' I think he achieved his goal.

The tall cut out boot is called the 'preying mantis' shoe and it has a 5.5 inch platform heel that literally forms to your foot like a cage. AJ said, "I love it because you are not sure what it is when you see it.  Is it a boot? Is it a sandal? I call it the Preying Mantis because it really is a man eater shoe!” Fabulous!

I have never been a fan of the Melissa rubber shoes, as a matter of fact I think they are little more than glorified jellies. However, these ankle boots are swaying my opinion a bit. They have a futuristic style that's pretty cool. I could wear these, especially on a rainy day. They have a four inch heel. A good thing about rubber shoes is that they are inexpensive! However Melissa shoes are designer rubber shoes, so your gonna pay more. $107 at Brownsfashion.com.

When I first saw these FABULOUS Christian Louboutin shoes, I wasn't sure what sort of outfit would look best with them, but I think the LBD shown is perfect. The multiple straps and shiny gold metallic leather give this shoe a sort of futuristic look that looks really great with simple attire, allowing the shoe to be the focal point. This shoe has a fierce 5.5 inch heel and a 1 inch platform. Available at Net a Porter, $1,495.

I get that most of us can't spend this kind of dough during a recession, so below the Louboutins are a few less expensive alternatives.

Emilio Pucci's nude leather mesh peep-toe boots are a perfect example of the warm weather boot. We always associate boots with cold weather attire, but recent designs in mesh and silk discredit that notion. I think they look best paired with a lot of leg; either short shorts or a mini dress. This Emilio Pucci shoe is fabulous in many ways, but I especially love the gold stiletto heel and the puffy, pillowy platform sole. The heel measures approximately 4.5 inches with a 2 inch double platform, so they will be relatively comfortable, like walking in a 2.5 inch heel. $1,085 at Net a Porter.

I absolutely love these sexy Giuseppe Zanotti shoes. They are classic Giuseppe Zanotti, with the mirrored, metallic leather and silver stiletto heel. The heel is the perfect height in my opinion,3.5 inches. While 4 and 4.5 inch shoes look very pretty, they are simply to painful for me to walk in. I can only wear those heights when I will be sitting the majority of the time they are on my feet. These shoes are on major sale, from $754 to $372, but only for those of you who wear a size 6. I love these Casadei shoes. These strappy wedge sandals feature an eye catching cutout detail accenting the heel while metallic gold leather straps criss-cross the front creating a chic, total glam look.
