Chanel Shoes Fall 2010

At some point ‘creative genius’ needs to be called what it really is – crazy. I think Karl Lagerfeld’s Chanel shoes in the Fall 2010 collection are just that, oh, and ugly. His inspiration for this collection was “three bears on an ice flow”, and like a polar bear who always has wet, usually dirty paws, the furry boots he designed are meant to collect the dirty, wetness beneath anyone’s feet when they wear these god-awful boots. Perfect shoes for a crowded college bar, non?

Karl also designed a partial rain boot, partial because the rubber only covers the heel and the bottom portion of the boot. How creative?!

Hideous.

Chanel Shoes Couture 2010 Collection

by Administrator 3. February 2010 04:26

Well, I wouldn't call it a collection, it's only two shoes, but here are the Chanel shoes from the 2010 Couture collection. The above shoe is by far the most interesting, even though it reminds me of Nicholas Kirkwood's recent Spring 2009 design. The pearl detail along the foot bed wasn't that popular in Kirkwoods version, but in this shoe the bright silver leather allows the pearls to have a more subtle effect and the smaller pearls along the heel make the overall look cohesive. This shoe is both futuristic and elegant, and should be a sell out for the Chanel consumers. The shoe below is pretty boring by contrast. The scrolled heel has been done time and again, so this is nothing new or interesting.

Chanel Spring/Summer 2010 shoes

by Administrator 6. October 2009 03:21

Chanel-Spring/Summer-2010-shoes

Apparently Karl Lagerfeld was inspired by rustic couture for this spring 2010 collection, and while it worked well with the clothing and handbag collections, the shoes left much to be desired. If there is anything worse than a wedge shoe, it's the clog. I'm sorry, but couture and clog just doesn't work. Karl debuted various styles of clog, some embellished and some very simple. He also had a very plain boot. And lastly he had some beautiful, flower embellished pumps and velvet, ivory heeled sandals. The lovely shoes, however, were diminished due to the dirt runway that the models walked down and soiled the shoes.

The Chanel shoes 2010 spring collection had a couple of stunningly beautiful shoes, but the rest were hideous and an insult to the famous label. Do you think Coco ever wore a clog?

Chanel Fall 2009 Shoe Collection

by Administrator 12. March 2009 04:15

The  Chanel Fall 2009 Shoe Collection was both classic Karl Lagerfeld and new and exciting. In an era where most shoe designers are trying to do something 'different' with the heels and soles of a shoe, it's hard to not duplicate something that has already been done, but this collection debuts a new and original design. The collection was seperated into three basic designs, with multiple color combination for each. There was an oragami inspired, wool mary jane with a textured and sometimes curved heel. There was a wedge ankle boot and lastly, my favorite, there was the heel with a ring in the center, attaching the two seperate pieces of the heel. It gives the shoe an optical illusion quality that is beyond fabulous.

Chanel Spring 2009 Couture shoes

Chanel Spring 2009 Couture shoes Chanel Spring 2009 Couture shoes

These shoes were debuted at the Chanel Spring 2009 Couture runway show earlier this week. I think they are rather bland. The entire collection, as well as the shoes, were disciplined into simple planes and only in black and white. This collection was influenced by Japanese culture. MmmK.

Chanel Shoe Collection Spring 2009

by Administrator 8. October 2008 03:53

Since it's not exactly feasible to invite people to view a Chanel collection in-house, as it used to be done, Karl Lagerfeld instead decided to bring the Rue Cambon to the thousand or so people who crowded into the Grand Palais. A life-size facade of the storied Chanel building at number 31—complete with a street runway—had been dropped into the space. The doors opened, "Our House" by Madness struck up on the sound system, and a line of Chanel-clad pedestrians streamed out.

Below are some of the beautiful and unusual shoes to hit the runway, but all are wearable. The shoes with the feathery heel came in pink and white, as well as the black pictured. I think that Chanel seemed a little bit boring compared to the some of the other designers, but Chanel is THE classic in style, and if it isn't broke....

Karl Lagerfeld displayed his creative genius a bit more in the handbags from this collection.

The black and white shoes above are my favorite to come out of this collection. They are feminine, sophisticated and I love how the black detail extends from the heel and the top of the shoe to the platform, as well.
